Armenian Terrorism on 08.18.1897

On this day, in 1897,  Armenian terrorists attempt three bomb attacks in Istanbul (then Constantinople). One of the bombs fail to explode. The second terrorist gets caught while he was trying to ignite the bomb. The third, unfortunately, succeeds and kills at least one person and wounds several others.

New York Times reports the incidence on its August 19, 1897 issue

TurkishPAC strongly condemns Armenian terrorist acts.
