The Turkish Coalition of America is accepting applications for its 2010 Washington Summer Internship Program. This program provides an opportunity for Turkish American students to live and work in Washington D.C., learn about the American political process, and explore career opportunities in public affairs. Designed to enhance Turkish American participation in political life and to cultivate the future generation of Turkish American leaders, the program lasts up to 8 weeks between June-August 2010. Interns will be provided an opportunity to work in congressional offices, select governmental and non-governmental organizations. A monthly stipend will be provided by TCA.

Recently, a letter seeking cosponsors for a renewed drive to secure the adoption of an "Armenian Genocide Resolution" was circulated on Capitol Hill. The lead authors of the proposed legislation included four members of congress from districts with sizable Armenian constituents. They included Armenian Caucus Co-Chairman Frank Pallone (D-NJ).


Rep. Pallone has turned his office in the U.S. Congress, home also to tens of thousands of New Jerseyans of Turkish descent, into an anti-Turkey nerve center.
